Destination Weddings

Planning a destination wedding?

Contact the local Chamber of Commerce and ask for information about the location you are considering.

Check the City webpage of the location of the wedding to see what else is happening around the time of your wedding.  Other tourist events will effect hotel and resource availability.

If you are a member of AAA or another travel club check with them to see what information they can give you regarding the location of your destination wedding.  Often their services are free.

Have a welcome packet or welcome letter ready for guests coming from out of town.  This will give your guests ideas of  local attractions or the must-sees in the area.

The shores of Lake Superior offer a beautiful destination wedding location.

We specialize in coordinating destination weddings.

What is a Destination Wedding?

A Destination wedding is a wedding that takes place in a location that is different from where the bride and groom reside.

A destination wedding can offer a mini-vacation for your family and friends.  These weddings also require some extra time and organization to pull off successfully.  Bride’s Best Friend can offer you the extra support you will need to plan your wedding from afar and ensure all of your traveling guests and families are well informed and to make the most of their mini-vacation.

Renee and Matt Pedersen

Living in Chicago, a nine-hour drive away, posed the first of many planning obstacles we weren’t quite prepared to overcome on our own.  I soon diverged from the search for party suppliers, baker, an officiant, salon, restaurant/bar, photographers, etc. and was on a mission to find a coordinator in the area.  After talking to Sheila for a good hour on the phone, I finally felt like planning for a wedding in a somewhat remote area, while living hours away, was manageable alongside her and Tanya at Bride’s Best Friend Wedding Coordinators.  Throughout the seven months we worked together, they helped put out many fires in my neurotic destination bride head, as well as with our vendors.  They provided company names and phone numbers for us to get in touch with viable vendors in the area since we were unable to find many on-line resources for the area.  They visited our wedding site numerous times on their own to get a sense of the day’s vision and flow.  The constant reassurance that all would work out the way WE wanted it to, made me feel like our day would still be a representation of us as a couple, while feeling comfortable accepting every bit of advice offered by the planning duo.  Sheila and Tanya sincerely cared about us and our wedding day.
